2008-2010 Election Results of Members of the UN NGO/DPI Executive CommitteeOn June 12, 2008, the League of Women Voters who are responsible for counting the ballots to elect members of the UN NGO/DPI Executive Committee reported the following results.
The 2008-2010 UN NGO/DPI Nominations Committee membership included Aaron Etra, Academia Mexicana De Derecho Internacional, Stafford Mousky, Association of Former International Civil Servants, Mary Norton, International Council of Nurses, Patricia Williams, Partners of America, Lester Wilson, Institute for the Study of International Organizations, Daniel Uitti, Philippines Human Rights Information Center, and L. Eudora Pettigrew, International Association of University Presidents, who served as Chair. of the Committee. The Nominations Committee selected two candidates for each open position. Ballots were sent to all NGOs associated with the UN Department of Public Information. Mail, email and Fax Ballots were received by the Executive Secretary of Holy Family University ( Philadelphia, Pa) and sent to the representatives of the League of Women Voters for counting. In addition, ballots could also be submitted to the representatives of the League of Women Voters on June 12, 2008 at the Annual Meeting of the UN NGO/DPI Executive Committee held at the United Nations ( NYC). Two-year terms for the members will begin in September, 2008. Six of the elected members - Arthur, Iadarola, Kessler, Parris, Trevisani, White - are new to the NGO Committee and will bring their knowledge and expertise to the work of the Committee. L.
