CONFERENCE
NETWORKING
OPPORTUNITY

The Networking Sub-committee of the 58th Annual DPI/NGO Conference Planning Committee presents the following formal and informal opportunities to network – Let’s meet between events!
  • The Global Village Wall will be available for comments, ideas, suggestions and as a gathering point throughout the Conference.  Each wall will be identified by focused questions so that your posted comments can be directed; members of the committee and DPI Interns will help make this simple networking tool useful and handy.  LOCATION: Between Conference Rooms A – F, Basement Level
  • Breakfast Networking Sessions will take place in the tent each morning of the Conference for focused conversations. Day 1: The MDGs, Day 2: The four Freedoms, Day 3: The Millennium Vision.  Please join us for breakfast and discussion.  LOCATION: Tent outside Visitors’ Entrance, 8:15 to 9:45a.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
  • Room GA-37 has been set aside as a ‘conversation place’. A facilitator will be present to greet NGO representatives, encourage dialogue and develop networks.  LOCATION: Room GA-37, across from UN Bookshop, Basement Level, adjacent to vending machines
  • Informal Networking will take place all day, every day, except during Midday Workshops and formal networking events.  Meet your colleagues, share ideas!   LOCATION: Conference Room A, Basement Level
  • GA-37 will host two formal Networking Sessions:
    • Fund Raising: How can NGOs effectively develop funding opportunities to support their efforts at the United Nations and in solidarity with the MDGs and other pressing UN goals?  LOCATION: GA-37, Wednesday, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
    • Advocacy: How does one advocate for our missions, visions, and goals at the United Nations?  How can our NGO voices best be heard? LOCATION: Room GA-37, Thursday, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
  • Conference Room A will also hold a very special networking opportunity with the MDG Global Watch Committee to share stories and best practices from the field.  LOCATION AND TIMES: Room A; Wednesday, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.; Thursday, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.; Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Through our efforts, the large tent you see on the Visitors’ Entrance esplanade is also available for us to network, eat and enjoy each other’s company.  We’ll see you there!

There is a table available for NGO materials outside of Conference Room 4.

Join us, joining you together at the 58th Annual DPI/NGO Conference – We look forward to meeting you!
